Historical significance: This two family building was built on Pestalozzi street in 1905, as the Tower Grove area was transforming into a densely populated urban neighborhood. An early resident at 3505 was Arthur Morgens, the treasurer and Vice President of the Morgens Bros Cleaning and Dyeing Company. He was listed at this address in 1907, and was still living there at the time of the 1910 census. By 1912 he had moved to the Shaw neighborhood. Also living at the residence at 3507 Pestalozzi was Charles R. Hettel, who was president of the C. R. Hettel Jewelry Company. He lived at the address until his death on July 4,1914.

Architectural significance: This house was built by Henry F. Luepke, a contractor, in 1905, and has a plaque labeled “Luepke House”. Luepke actually lived at 2128 Nebraska, but was the architect and builder for this house. The house is built in a vernacular early 20th century style, with a flat roof and elaborate brick detailing at the roofline. It also features limestone lintels, much like the Greek Revival and Federal style buildings being constructed in St. Louis half a century earlier. A feature of many of the early 20th century buildings in the area is that while many of them share the same basic plan, each building has its own unique architectural features that differentiate it from the other buildings surrounding it.
